Deactivate a Member in Directory

This article describes steps to deactivate a member in Directory.

If a Directory member is no longer considered an active member of your parish, you can deactivate the member. For example you may wish to deactivate a member that no longer attends your parish or perhaps deactivate a member that has moved away for college. Deactivated members do not count toward your active member count, but their information is retained in the system, including sacraments and contributions. Individual members or entire families can be deactivated.

If a child Directory member reaches adulthood and wants to become a registered member under their own family, you do not need to delete or deactivate the member. Simply move the member to a new family, and all data from their childhood will move with them.

Complete the following steps to deactivate a Directory member:

1. In Directory, search for and select the member you want to deactivate.

2. Click the ellipsis on the Member Detail card to view the drop-down menu.

3. In the drop-down menu, select Deactivate Member.

4. Click the Deactivate button to confirm your action.

Deactivated members are denoted by the display of a gold bar on the Member Detail card.

Deactivated members are highlighted in yellow in Directory search results and display a yellow (deactivated) member icon.
