Create a Temporary Attendance Link for a Specific Religious Education Session

This article describes steps to create and provide a temporary attendance link via email or text for a specific Religious Education session.

An administrator can email or text a link for a specific Religious Education session to anyone, such as a substitute teacher, to be able to record attendance on a computer or mobile device from the external site.

Providing a temporary link prevents having to login or provide access to the entire attendance page for all of the sessions.  An active link expires after one week from the time it is generated.

Complete the steps to send a temporary attendance link for a Religious Education session.

1. In Religious Ed go to Terms.

2. Click on the desired term to view Term Details.

3. Click on Classes in the main menu.

4. Click on the desired class to view sessions.

5. On the Upcoming Class Sessions card, click on the desired Session to view details.

6. Click on the ellipsis to view the drop-down menu.

7. Select Send Temporary Attendance Link. This action copies the link for this specific class session to the clipboard.

Note* Paste the copied link into an email or text to send. The link provides information to record attendance for only this specific class session.

Example link: https://ci.osvhubdev.com/saint-theresa-of-avila/religious-ed/e7bb66b5-579a-41c2-919c-0190dc4a5788/sessions/edbdaabf-9a9c-42fd-9e94-0190dc4a57aa/attendance

8. The receiver of the link should move the toggle from right to left to show a student absent. The default position of the toggle is that the student is present.

9. Click on Record Attendance.

The recorded attendance for the session is reflected on the Upcoming Class Session card.
